My aim is to create "vital regions" throughout the Free State of Saxony that exploit the synergies of both urban and rural spaces, advance their respective strengths and make up deficits through targeted support.

  • Barbara Meyer was born March 3rd, 1962 in Bonn, she is married and catholic.
  • She studied law and finished in 1990
  • 1990-1991 she worked with KPMG as a tax expert
  • Since 1992 she holds positions for the government of the Free State of Saxony
    • 1992 - 2003 she worked for the School Ministry, since 1998 she holds the position as department head
    • as such she changed to the Ministry of Economy in 2003

She was appointed State Secrertary in the Saxon State Ministry of Regional Development on July 1st, 2022.
